The Benefits of PMU Tattoo Eyeliner

Eyeliner is a makeup must for defining your eye, brightening your face, and accentuating your features – but achieving the perfect look with makeup can be a challenge. When you get permanent eyeliner, you can have a flawless, finished look all the time, without ever having to reapply.

Many of the world’s top beauty influencers are tossing out their eye pencils and liquid liners, making the switch to permanent eyeliner instead. With so many benefits to offer, the permanent liner is one of the best beauty decisions you’ll ever make:

  • Show off smudge-proof style: Traditional eyeliner can smudge, fade, and smear before you’ve even had your morning coffee, ruining your entire look in minutes. And if you’re going to be exercising, swimming, or getting active? You can bet that your eyeliner won’t last. But with permanent eyeliner, you can finally be free of the fear of make-up mishaps. PMU can’t be rubbed or washed off, so it can stand up to anything.
  • Have a stunning start to any makeup look: Eyeliner is a key step in your eye makeup routine, whether you’re creating something soft and subtle or smoky and dramatic. With PMU, you can save time and skip straight to the fun part, playing with eyeshadow colors shading – no lining needed!
  • Choose a custom eyeliner style that perfectly fits you. The PMU eyeliner procedure at OM Design Studio makes it easy to design a look that’s right for you – no two applications are alike! Your PMU artist can do anything from a soft lash enhancement to retro-style wings; it’s totally up to you.
  • Enhance your eyes for an instant confidence boost. Many clients opt for the permanent liner that gives a natural boost to their lash line. This technique can make it look like you have naturally dark, thick lashes, so you can skip mascara and enjoy more makeup-free days. You can roll out of bed feeling more put-together than before and feel more confident than ever in your natural beauty.

Frequently Asked Questions

OM Studio provides clients with an extensive selection of permanent eyeliners options, including the ability to combine top and bottom liner. If you aren’t sure which look or technique is right for you, we are happy to answer your questions during a consultation appointment.

If you’ve ever wished you could enjoy the convenience and style of perfect eyeliner all the time, permanent eyeliner might be for you. Even if you tend to rock an ultra-natural makeup look, PMU eyeliner can be customized to add a subtle touch to your everyday style. For clients that enjoy expressing their style with dramatic eye makeup looks, the PMU procedure can also be tailored to match.

All PMU colors at OM Studio are custom-blended to flawlessly match the look you want. If you have a specific shade in mind, feel free to bring in an eyeliner pencil or powder (or a photo) as an example.

The permanent eyeliner process takes between two to three hours on average, depending on your selected style.

Your PMU artist will use a gentle numbing cream to make sure that you’re comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Many of our clients report that the experience involves much less discomfort than they initially expected.

Preparing for the permanent eyeliner procedure is similar to the prep process for other types of PMU. Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, and alcohol for a full 24 hours prior, and Retin-A/AHA products, waxing, laser, and electrolysis for about a week beforehand.

If you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, we do not recommend permanent eyeliner.

About 6-12 weeks after your first appointment, we can schedule a touchup to complete the look and finalize the color and shape. Once that step is complete, you can expect your PMU to last between three to five years (depending on a few different factors). Most of our clients schedule color touchups within three years to keep their permanent eyeliner looking fresh and fade-free.
